Why We Exist | Almost 50 years ago, the legendary Bible teacher and Gospel Light founder Henrietta C. Mears established the foundation of Gospel Light Worldwide to fulfill one vital purpose: to put the best possible Bible teaching tools into the hands of teachers and learners around the world.
Finances | As a member of the ECFA, Gospel Light Worldwide reports ministry results to our financial partners through stringent and detailed accountability procedures. Each month our finances are reviewed by our Board of Directors and audited each year by an independent auditing firm.
Our Roots | Henrietta C. Mears was one of the great Bible teachers of the 20th century. As Christian Education Director at First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood, she built one of the largest Sunday Schools in the world and wrote curriculum that was in such high demand that to publish it she founded Gospel Light in 1933. Such notable Christian leaders as Richard C. Halverson, Luis Evans, Jr. and Bill Bright were among her students.
