“I think that this project is filling the need that is found in the Orthodox Church in Lebanon by bringing a child focused and Bible based curriculum in the local language and contextualized for the local culture and tradition. The church has ownership of this project because the end product is for the church. Although the curriculum is written in the US, once it get translated and contextualized to the local context and language it seems as if it is developed by the church itself.”

Much work has been done to develop and provide new teaching materials and children’s books of good quality. Key partners have been the Greek Orthodox Church of Lebanon and the Armenian Apostolic Church along with World Vision US and World Vision Lebanon.
Curriculum Translated, Contextualized and Printed
Age 8, Part I in Arabic for the Greek Orthodox Church
Age 8, Part I and II, with Teacher’s Manual in Armenian for the Armenian Apostolic Church.
Age 12, Part I and Teacher’s Manual (Armenian)
Age 14, Part I, with Teacher’s Manual(Armenian)
About 50 teachers have been trained in total from the Greek Orthodox and Armenian Apostolic Churches. The Armenian Apostolic church has started using the books in their Sunday School classes, with app. 750 attending the classes. The Greek Orthodox Church is slated to begin conducting classes shortly.

Youth Bible Curriculum is focused on providing Christ-centered teaching materials for children in Lebanon, providing teaching manuals for religion teachers and equipping teachers and religious leaders with knowledge on how to use the curriculum.
